KFSR Testimonial

My experience at KFSR absolutely had an impact on my life.  I was given opportunities that I could not have received anywhere else…

My internship at KFSR in the summer of 2023 was an incredible experience.  I learned about the radio station through my uncle, who is an Associate Dean at Fresno State.  He put me in touch with station management, and I learned about student opportunities at KFSR.  After discussing my education and career goals, I was offered the opportunity to produce a weekly sports program for the station.  I was given amazing control of the show’s content, which allowed me to focus on sports at a global, national, and even local level.  That freedom helped me produce challenging and compelling content.

Producing the show expanded my experience in broadcasting, added to my audio editing skills, and helped me develop as an on-air talent.  It gave me insight to the challenges and rewards of the industry, and confirmed my goal to pursue a career in broadcasting.

KFSR management also provided me with access to industry professionals.  I was introduced to local sports broadcasters, and was given the opportunity to be a guest and guest host on the local ESPN affiliate.  I made connections that I will maintain and utilize as I further pursue my education and career.

The management team at KFSR are amazing.  KFSR Production Director Brian German did an amazing job producing my show, and KFSR General Manager Julie Logan was instrumental in creating opportunities for me.  She provided me with everything I needed to be successful at the station, and went above and beyond to help me with my career goals.

My experience at KFSR absolutely had an impact on my life.  I met great people, learned a lot about the industry, and was given opportunities that I could not have received anywhere else.  I have a million fond memories from my internship, and have made connections I intend to keep for a long time.  My experience at KFSR was amazing, and exactly what I needed to solidify my plans to pursue a career in broadcasting.
